Champion Data is now seeking highly motivated people to join our casual match day operations team as Bunker Managers.

The Bunker Manager role is a pivotal part of our matchday operations for AFL football and other captured sports.

Our Bunker Managers are responsible for supporting our capture team, live monitoring of our software and services and the first point of contact for internal and external queries.

Key Responsibilities

IT Administration and Operations

• Coordination and support of all capture hardware and software in our bunker
• Support and oversight of our capture staff and their requirements
• Management and distribution of video feeds into the bunker
• Live monitoring of software and data delivery
• Client support via phone, email, Slack
• Liaison between venue operators and internal and external partners
• Communication with match officials, venue staff and club staff where required
• Support of AFL Athlete Tracking, working alongside our Athlete Tracking staff members
• Oversight on AFL processes and procedures, including team selection and score confirmation
• Setup and coordination of venue clock feed delivery
• First-line response to queries from our capture, operations, technical and broadcast teams
• Troubleshooting of software, data delivery, video and technical issues
• Documentation and communication of issues to external partners within SLA guidelines
• Submission of a comprehensive shift report on completion

Bunker Managers will also be trained in our AFL Athlete Tracking role, with the ability to perform either role on a match day if required.

Shift Requirements

• Regular availability for weeknight and weekend shifts as required
• Availability for weekday shifts during business hours to assist our technical and operational teams is preferable but not essential
• Minimum of 4 week notice for unavailability
• Attendance at all pre-season briefings/training
• Adherence to Champion Data uniform policy

About You

• Very strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in technical troubleshooting and support
• General software, hardware and basic networking skills, including iOS devices
• Previous experience with client support preferred
• Punctuality and strong presentation skills - you will be in a leadership role in our bunker
• Ability to troubleshoot, find solutions and know when to escalate issues
• Interest and knowledge of AFL and netball sports and the rules around them
