About the Role

The People & Culture Administrator will be responsible for assisting with quality people information and administrative support to our workforce across a range of strategic and operational People & Culture initiatives to create high levels of employee engagement, performance, and wellbeing for Hockey Australia and its shared service entities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely People & Culture processes including onboarding, learning and development, engagement, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Support recruitment activities: draft job ads, manage postings, coordinate interviews, conduct checks, and communicate outcomes.
  • Administer internship programs in collaboration with education providers.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding through induction checklists, IT setup, and induction programs.
  • Maintain accurate employment documentation (contracts, position descriptions, policies, organisational charts).
  • Coordinate learning and development events and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Prepare employment-related letters and documentation (e.g., remuneration, probation, development plans).
  • Manage compliance requirements including WWCC, Police Checks, and Sports Integrity standards.
  • Support HRIS administration (Employment Hero) and maintain up-to-date employee records.
  • Assist with staff engagement surveys, recognition programs, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Respond to general People & Culture and employment enquiries.

Remuneration

Hockey Australia will offer a $51,000 base salary plus superannuation dependent upon the successful applicant's skills and experience.

Experience, Skills and Attributes:

  • Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle sensitive employee information and maintain discretion at all times.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation and HR processes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise competing tasks effectively.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Recent graduate or 1+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Employment Hero and Culture Amp desirable.

Essential Requirements

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
