The Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV) was established in 1920 and is governed by a Board made up 9 principals representing each of its nine member schools: Assumption College, Camberwell Grammar School, Ivanhoe Grammar School, Marcellin College, Mentone Grammar, Peninsula Grammar, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, Trinity Grammar School, Yarra Valley Grammar
AGSV is one of the leading school sporting associations in Victoria, with over 14,000 students competing across a range of competitions and programs. It delivers sport education experiences for students that enhance student heath, wellbeing and education outcomes.
AGSV staff work together with each of the member schools through the AGSV Sport Directors/Coordinators Committee, AGSV Junior Committee and together with the APS for the Girls competition through the AGSV/APS Committee.
AGSV works together with a number of key stakeholders to drive its operations including state/national sport organisations, the School Sport Associations of Victoria Committee representing school sport organisations across Victoria and key suppliers & contractors that support AGSV operations.

The Role
This role is responsible for ensuring a wide range of sport activities are successfully delivered by AGSV that support the education of students at AGSV member schools. The position works with other AGSV staff, key stakeholders and partners to deliver the role functions.
Under the direction of the General Manager Competitions this position is responsible for coordinating match officials including planning, rostering and reviewing. This role coordinates appointments of medical, child safe support and other staffing where required. The position also liaises with internal stake holders including Firsts sport team staff to ensure successful delivery of competitions.
As part of AGSV's ongoing commitment to child safety, the position is responsible for the collection and compilation of injury & incident reports, attendance at meetings, risk management reporting and the use of internal reporting systems such as Passtab.
The role assists with the planning and delivery of AGSV events and competitions including the ordering & production of signage, booking of venues and coordination of officials and staff uniforms. The positions develops, maintains and distributes AGSV operating procedures and manuals.
Under the direction of the CEO this role has an important communications focus coordinating AGSV social media channels and collating and promoting match results & announcements, research & promote student success, develop online content, monitor social media accounts, establish and coordinate a AGSV facebook page, produce the AGSV newsletter, coordinate student media involvement and support digital education initiatives.
The role is required to support AGSV operations and is required to work successfully with other AGSV staff, contractors and volunteers.
Experience, knowledge and skills
Essential / proven
- Event management and sports administration experience
- Experience in the use of social media, creation of content and production of enewsletters
- Uphold and promote existing Policies and Procedures
- Advanced computer skills including full Microsoft suite, Google sheets & docs
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- High level attention to detail
- Advocate student involvement in sport with a strong sense of ethics and fairness
- Uphold confidentiality and respect the ethical standards
- Commitment to working in a fast paced role
Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work related experience - education / or sports management / administration
