South Coast Netball is on the lookout for a Competitions Coordinator. You will assist in the customer service administration and delivery of all competitions & programs as well as game day/night administration. Programs included but not limited to; Saturday Club netball, Wednesday night competitions, South Coast representative program, umpire management, liaise with members & potential members and assist with carnivals, programs, facilities, with the purpose of the ongoing development, expansion and growth of South Coast Netball.
The role will be pivotal in delivering best practice administration, quality competitions and exceptional customer experiences for our participants.
Key Objectives
- Support the operational delivery of competitions to our participants.
- Coordinate the resources, including umpires, volunteers, etc needed to deliver the competition.
- Ensure the competitions facilities are cared for appropriately.
- Build strong relationships with the customer base.
- Work collaboratively with General Manager, Committee and key stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing Game Day and Netball Connect - registrations, transfers, club support, the whole box and dice.
- Preparing fixtures for all senior and junior Summer and Winter competitions.
- Assisting with our senior and junior representative programs.
- Pitching in with other tasks as needed - we’re a small team who help each other out.
Competition Administration and Support
- Deliver best practice competition management that promotes inclusive participation in Netball.
- Support volunteer recruitment and retention, coach, and official development, and assist with identifying grant and sponsorship opportunities.
- Deliver competition operations including set up and pack down.
- Coordinate competition days/nights including liaising with volunteers to deliver competition outcomes.
- Record and handle incidents and injuries.
- Proficiently use Netball Connect for the coordination of Fixtures & Results and registration
- Undertake general duties and ground duties, as directed by General Manager
Governance, Compliance and Work Health and Safety
- Ensure Netball competitions undertake best practice operations, governance, Work Health & Safety and Risk management practices.
- Keep up to date and ensure compliance with legislative requirements (i.e. Child Protection, NQ/NA Policies (i.e. Disciplinary Regulations, Member Protection, etc.), registration and insurance requirements
- Ensure competitions meet legislative and policy requirements, conduct regular compliance checks and rectify issues of significance
Building and Maintaining Key Relationships
- Ensure high level and effective communications with stakeholders, committees and community contacts.
- Identify opportunities for new alliances and partnerships, including expansion of competitions.
- Build rapport with existing connections to maintain networks internally and externally.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Previous experience in administration and/or competitions coordination
- Excellent written and oral communication skills supported by interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to problem-solve through innovative thinking.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a Blue Card.
- Must hold a current driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience working with volunteers and Not for Profit Associations.
- Previous experience using Netball Connect or similar systems.
- Strong computer and IT skills including experience in database management.
Hours of Work
The sport industry operates outside of traditional business hours, including weekends, and to succeed in this role, you must be willing and able to work when and where sport is happening.
