The Squash SA Competitions Coordinator works under the guidance of the General Manager and the Board of directors to promote and administer a diverse range of squash and racquetball competitions, general enquiries and administrative tasks under our strategic pillars:

Profile: Share our vision with affiliate members, new and recognisable brand and invest in marketing
Participation: Increase social players, more participants in programs & strategies and programs at clubs
Performance: Commercial revenue streams, minimise risk and pathways for all players
Places: Business case for outdoor courts, empower affiliate members and partner with similar sports

The Squash SA Competition Coordinator is the first contact point for many of our stakeholders and plays a critical part in the day-to-day operations of Squash SA.

Location:

The Competition Coordinator will be based Monday to Friday at the Squash SA Office and will occasionally be required to work offsite and after hours at meetings or events.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Administer and coordinate Squash SA’s squash and racquetball competitions including pennant, high school competition, corporate cup and new Women’s programs
  • Assist clubs and players with Squash Australia’s membership/competition platform and website: Revolutionise Sport
  • Administer the Squash SA website, social media platforms, e-newsletter and mail out of promotional materials
  • Work with affiliated clubs, squash facilities, coaches and referees to promote participation and programs
  • Board and committee meeting preparation of agendas and minutes
  • Assist with general squash and racquetball enquiries
  • Create posters, flyers and promotional print material for programs, clubs and competitions
  • Administer the Squash SA Working With Children register
  • Assist with Tonsley 24/7 bookings and court hire arrangements

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational and administration skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Publisher, Power Point Excel etc.)
  • Sports Knowledge: A strong understanding of the sports industry, including rules, regulations, and different types of sports
  • Competition/event management: Experience in organising and managing events is essential. This includes skills in logistics, scheduling, venue selection, and coordinating with various stakeholders
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Squash coaching experience and skills (preferred but not essential)

Personal and interpersonal skills:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for sport participation and a commitment to see our sports develop and improve
  • A “can do” attitude and positivity in a small team-based environment
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Willingness to align with Squash SA, Squash Australia and Sport Integrity Australia policies
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working With Children Clearance
  • Be well groomed, punctual and wear the Squash SA uniform and branding at all times when representing Squash SA

Performance and review:

  • Transparent targets and performance goals will be set out and reviewed quarterly

Essential Requirements

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Drivers Licence
