We’re seeking a driven and relationship-focused Commercial Executive operating within a fast-paced, elite sporting environment to help shape our corporate and stakeholder engagement at one of Australia’s most exciting and growing sporting organisations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role is central to our corporate strategy and game-day excellence. You’ll lead premium hospitality and business network sales, driving commercial growth and delivering elite client experiences for South East Melbourne Phoenix.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing commercial strategies and sales plans to attract and retain investment across a suite of traditional and non-traditional products and services
- Securing corporate boxes and premium hospitality packages at the Phoenix Nest and Courtside Club.
- Managing a large inventory of corporate seating, including full packages, seat-only options, and game-day functions.
- Developing, overseeing and growing the PNX Network premium B2B corporate platform including managing and curating 4–6 networking events annually.
- Driving premium membership sales and facilitating business connections.
- Working alongside other team members to identify potential Partnership opportunities across branded or community based programs.
- Building a deeper understanding of existing clients to identify additional upsell or value-add opportunities.
- Working with industry stakeholders including Clubs, Associations and the NBL to identify areas of collaboration and growth.
- Providing exceptional service and customer relationships to drive retention and build advocacy.
- Contribute to working groups to identify new product development or experiences which can drive investment or deepen engagement
- Collaborating with Partnerships and Marketing to deliver best-in-class experiences.
- Maintaining accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and CRM records.
- Managing corporate ticketing on game days.
- Representing the Club at events, match days, and within the business community.
This role requires availability on weekends and evenings throughout the NBL Home and Away and Championship Season.

- A proven track record in a commercial and customer facing environment across sales, B2B , corporate hospitality, Partnerships or premium event sales.
- A natural connector who thrives on building relationships with a varied commercial and customer base.
- A strategic thinker who can identify new opportunities, close deals, and retain clients through exceptional service.
- A confident presenter and communicator who can represent the Phoenix brand at events and match days.
- Understand the unique role that sports and entertainment can play to build connections and relationships.
