Reports To: Operations Manager
The Competitions Administrator at Keilor Basketball Association (KBA) plays a pivotal role in the organisation's success by overseeing the efficient administration of the Junior Domestic Competition. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the Junior Competition, coordinates the Keilor Basketball Association Junior Committee (KBAJ), manages the competition budget, and facilitates the transition of participants from grassroots programs into the Junior Domestic Competition. The Competitions Administrator contributes to the growth and development of basketball programs and ensures a seamless experience for young athletes.
Some weekend availability may be required to support gameday competition operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Junior Domestic Competition Administration
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Junior Domestic Competition, including fixture scheduling, team registrations, and communication with participating clubs.
- Ensure compliance with competition rules and regulations, address inquiries, and manage disciplinary matters as required.
- Maintain accurate records and promptly report competition results and statistics.
2. Management of Junior Domestic Budget
- Manage the budget for the Junior Domestic Competition, monitoring expenses and revenue to ensure financial sustainability.
- Prepare financial summaries and provide recommendations for budget adjustments when necessary.
3. Coordination of the KBAJ
- Build strong relationships with all Junior Domestic Clubs.
- Schedule and manage meeting dates, follow up on action items, and maintain detailed meeting notes and minutes.
4. Transition Support for Participants
- Facilitate the smooth transition of participants from KBA programs, such as Mini Thunder and Development Programs, to the Junior Domestic Competition in collaboration with the KBA Participation Administrator.
- Develop strategies and initiatives to encourage and support program participants in joining the Junior Domestic Competition.
5. Communication with Junior Domestic Clubs
- Serve as the primary contact for all Junior Domestic Clubs.
- Ensure clubs receive timely and comprehensive communications on all necessary information.
6. Lead the development and innovation of new competition products
- Understand gaps in KBA competition offerings and contribute to the development and implementation of new products like 3x3 and school-based competitions.
