The role 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate Creche Team Leader for our brand new creche. The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and provision of professional child-minding services for NSOP customers, as well as assisting with the coordination and provision of birthday parties.

The Creche Team Leader is responsible for the safe and quality operation of the creche in accordance with all legislative guidelines as they relate to creche operations. This includes providing leadership and direction to Creche Assistants whilst maintaining positive internal and external stakeholder relationships.

You will be an original member of one of Sydney’s most iconic sites, making a difference, and contributing to the establishment of NSOP as a friendly hub for the North Sydney community. The person 

You are a committed and skilled leader with a passion for nurturing children’s development while ensuring a safe and supportive environment. With a strong understanding of early childhood care, you lead by example, bringing both expertise and a caring approach to your role. You thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment where you can positively impact the lives of both children and their families.

Your leadership style is proactive and empathetic - you motivate and guide your team with patience, solve challenges calmly, and take pride in fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Always focused on continuous improvement, you prioritize safety, compliance, and highquality care in every decision, ensuring that every child’s experience is both enriching and enjoyable. 

Essential Criteria 

  • Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent / equivalent relevant experience
  • Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (or equivalent) and current CPR certificate. 
  • Demonstrated success in childcare operations and programming, leading a small team within a childcare setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of Work Health and Safety, quality, and legislative requirements as they relate to the Child service industry.
  • High level communication, conflict resolution, organisational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and productively within an organisation and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to demonstrate initiative when required.
  • Be able to satisfy the requirement of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulations 2013 and provide a current NSW Working with Children Clearance; and adhere to Workplace Health and Safety requirements. 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Child Protection Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training (or willing to obtain).
  • Demonstrated administration experience with scheduling bookings, staff rostering and performance management.
  • Additional experience or qualifications in the leisure industry, such as certifications in business management, fitness, customer service or swimming, are advantageous. 
  • Experience and knowledge of Local Government practices, regulations and policies
