Tamworth Pirates Rugby Football Club seeks an energetic and committed First Grade Coach to lead our premier side through the 2026 Central North Rugby Union competition. This volunteer role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the club’s success and uphold the Pirates’ tradition of strong, community-driven rugby.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver Tuesday & Thursday evening training sessions throughout the pre-season and season.
Lead First Grade match preparation, analysis, and review.
Support athlete development and maintain open communication with all players.
Collaborate closely with the Club Head Coach to ensure consistency of systems and culture across grades.
Engage with the Northern Suburbs Rugby Union Club in shared coaching and development opportunities.
Key Skills
Excellent communicator and motivator.
Sound technical and tactical understanding of rugby.
Proven organisational skills and time management.
Ability to build strong team culture and performance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential: Smart Rugby accreditation; Community Coaching Certification (Level 2) or equivalent Proven experience coaching at senior club or representative level.
Must be willing to upskill and continue professional development in coaching pathways.
