Description

What is the Role?

Coaches need to be available for Tuesday afternoon and Saturday Morning. Training after school (4:00pm - 5:30pm) is held at Balmain Rowing Club. Saturday is also held at Balmain Rowing Club from 7:30am-10:00am. At the moment Rowing consists of two training days with a Regatta set for February 1st 2026. The season has already begun, ending in March 2026.

Our Season

Although rowing at SACS is currently not an ISA sport, we do follow a very similar calendar. The summer season runs within our school dates for both term 4 and term 1. There may be some holiday training especially before a race. Team selections for any regattas at this point are just the training sessions leading up to the event. The whole summer season (approximately) covers the 14th October 2025 to the 7th March 2026.

Who will the successful applicants be?

  • You will be working at Balmain Rowing Club (other venues may be used as needed)
  • Bring specialist knowledge and experience as well as a passion and enthusiasm to coach and mentor in a school sport environment.
  • Ideally hold a minimum Club Coach accreditation in Rowing and/or relevant experience in youth Rowing.
  • We want coaches who are open to development through further accreditation and guidance from the Head Coach and senior coaching staff
  • Have a current Working with Children Check, Level 1 First Aid or be prepared to obtain these.
  • Model the St Andrew’s Cathedral School values and behaviours and uphold the Independent Sporting Association Code of Conduct.

Your prior experience in a school setting is an advantage but it’s not essential.
