We are seeking a Performance Coordinator, Sport to join QUT Sport, Queensland University of Techology.
 About the role
 The Performance Coordinator, Sport will lead a project to strengthen and evolve QUT’s high performance sport initiatives in collaboration with university stakeholders, and community and industry partners. This role is focused on delivering strategic and operational outcomes for the Elite Sport Program and associated partnerships, ensuring alignment with curriculum, work-integrated learning, research, and performance-based initiatives.
 Specifically, the role will drive expansion of the Elite Sport Program at QUT to engage with Professional Leagues and emerging athletes, coaches and officials. The role will design and embed student-athlete career and development initiatives that connect QUT with community and industry partners, creating industry-leading graduate outcomes. The project role will establish a scalable framework for high performance sport at QUT, laying the foundation for sustainable partnerships, enhanced student support, and expanded opportunities in the broader sporting landscape.
 The position is required to work within the QUT Sport team and across the University with faculties and professional divisions to ensure performance based sport activities are cohesive and align with the strategies and action plans of sport at QUT.
 The position will also manage stakeholder relations external to the University including peak bodies, community organisations, State Government and various suppliers/partners of the University.
 This position reports to the Manager, Sport for career planning, development, and performance expectations.
 As Performance Coordinator, Sport, you will:
  - Design and deliver the strategic framework for QUT’s Elite Sport Program, ensuring alignment with the Australian Institute of Sport’s Elite Sport Education Network (ESEN) standards and expanding links with professional sporting leagues. This includes establishing coordinated support across academic, performance, and career domains to create a future-focused model for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and high-performance partners.
- Develop and implement a pilot elite sport career development and support model, in consultation with faculties, administrative divisions, and industry partners. This model will underpin QUT Sport’s strategy for elite student-athletes, coaches and officials and provide the foundation for industry-leading work-integrated learning and graduate outcomes.
- Establish a framework around performance-focused teaching and research initiatives with faculty leads, embedding academic knowledge into applied practice. The project will ensure teaching and research outputs directly enhance student-athlete experience while generating measurable value for community and industry partners within the QUT Sport ecosystem.
- Create and implement processes to manage stakeholder engagement relevant to high performance sport, including Australian University Sport, the AIS, National Sporting Organisations, SIS/SAS representatives, professional player associations, and commercial partners. This will include negotiating and formalising partnership agreements that align with project KPIs and objectives.
- Develop evaluation frameworks and reporting tools to capture outcomes, measure impact, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of QUT’s performance-oriented sport programs and activities beyond the life of the project.
- Compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.
Selection Criteria
  - Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience within the National sporting industry.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to provide coherent, consistent and effective Sporting programs and initiatives, to achieve business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to display initiative, contribute new ideas, critically evaluate current systems and processes and develop strategies, policies and actionable plans to support the strategic direction and aspirations of the sports strategy in the delivery of performance based sporting programs and student initiatives.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise with a wide range of people both external to the University and internally including senior managers, academic and professional staff, students and alumni.
- Excellent organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to plan and coordinate administrative workflows to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a changing sporting landscape that integrates new technologies within the sporting sector whilst ensuring the provision of high quality student sporting initiatives that contribute to the recruitment, engagement and retention of students at the University.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in using information systems and an understanding of the principles of business processes and integrated planning
Remuneration and benefits
 The classification for this position is Higher Education Worker Level 8 (HEW8) which has an annual remuneration range of $135,483 to $153,562 pa. This is inclusive of an annual salary range of $114,485 to $129,761 pa, 17% superannuation, and leave loading.
