The Metro League Coach plays a pivotal role in leading and developing one of MWNA’s representative teams competing in the Netball NSW Metro League. This position requires a passionate, experienced, and committed individual who can foster athlete development, promote team cohesion, and uphold the values of MWNA.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and delivery of high-quality training sessions for the Metro League team.
Develop and implement game strategies and tactics appropriate to the competition level.
Provide individual feedback and mentoring to players to support their growth and performance.
Collaborate with assistant coaches, team managers, and support staff to ensure a holistic athlete experience.
Attend all scheduled training sessions, trials, and Metro League fixtures.
Participate in MWNA coaching meetings, clinics, and development programs.
Uphold MWNA’s values of inclusivity, respect, and excellence in all interactions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Netball Australia Foundation Coaching Accreditation (minimum); Development or higher preferred.
Proven experience coaching at representative or club level.
Strong understanding of netball tactics, athlete development, and team management.
Current NSW Working with Children Check.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Commitment:
Season duration: Typically March to August (including trials, training, and competition).
Weekly training sessions (Sunday evenings) and match days.
Attendance at MWNA events and coaching development opportunities.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
