Description

Melbourne City FC is looking for a talented and passionate Graphic Designer to join our dynamic Marketing and Communications team. This role is perfect for a creative all-rounder who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong eye for detail, brand consistency, and visual storytelling.

As the Club’s Graphic Designer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality creative across all touchpoints — from digital and print to motion and in-stadium environments. You’ll play a key role in driving fan engagement, supporting our commercial partners, and maintaining the bold and contemporary visual identity of Melbourne City FC.

Who are we?

Melbourne City FC is part of a global football business, City Football Group (CFG). We compete in Australia’s elite domestic football competition, the A-Leagues, with both men’s and women’s teams, National Premier League and youth leagues, the Australia Cup competition, and the Asian Football Confederation competitions, including the Asian Champions League Elite.

CFG currently consists of 13 football clubs, including Manchester City FC, and is one of the fastest-growing sporting organisations in the world.

Our Club supports flexibility; however, we have established parameters with onsite presence, as we believe in the benefits of working side by side. We have built our new state-of-the-art office at Casey Fields, which is very different from a traditional workspace. We’ve created a space that supports collaboration, with key activities ranging from individual work points to team neighbourhoods. We want our people to come to work feeling energised, building rapport, connectivity, and friendships, which ultimately drives performance towards something bigger than ourselves.

What you’ll do

  • Design and produce visual materials through digital, print, motion, and out-of-home (OOH) platforms in line with the Club’s brand identity.
  • Lead the creative execution of digital content in collaboration with the Head of Marketing and Communications.
  • Create match day graphics for social media, LED boards, and jumbo screens.
  • Support membership and ticketing campaigns with creative that drives engagement and conversion.
  • Develop assets for marketing campaigns, commercial partners, City Football School, Melbourne City Institute of Sport and Business and City in the Community initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver outstanding creative, on time and to brief.
  • Maintain organised design archives and prepare print-ready and digital files to industry standards.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar creative role — sport or entertainment experience highly regarded.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • Strong conceptual thinking, with the ability to translate briefs into compelling visual ideas.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; experience with motion, video editing, or CMS tools a bonus.
  • Current Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are

  • Passionate about sport, creativity, and current design trends.
  • A team player who collaborates easily but can also work independently.
  • Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to excellence in every brief.

Essential Requirements

  • Work rights in Australia essential.
  • Current Victorian Working with Children Check (or willing to apply).
  • National Police Check (or willing to apply).
