About the Opportunity
Griffith Sport is responsible for a diverse range of sport and recreation activities, services and facilities for students, staff and the external community.
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and driven sport management professional to join the Griffith Sport team as a Sport Officer to help deliver services across various Campuses.
This diverse role covers administration and operational support for the Griffith Sport department with main focuses on sporting clubs, social sport, junior sport programs, representative sport, events and activities.
It involves club development and support, hands on event and competition management, general administration duties and logistical tasks, with proven highly developed communication skills with a range of stakeholders key to success in this role.
Please be aware that this role requires the successful applicant to work various hours on site, including a minimum of 3 afternoons/evenings on weekdays per week.
An example of a regular roster is:
- Monday 8am to 4pm
- Tuesday 2pm to 10pm
- Wednesday 2pm to10pm
- Thursday 1pm to 9pm
- Friday 8am to 4pm
About you
Essential
- Relevant qualification with professional experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience within the sports industry
- Current driver’s licence
- Blue Card
- First Aid and CPR certificate.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Exceptional customer service, highly developed communication, organisational, and administrative skills.
- Experience in leadership roles with casual staff or volunteers.
- Experience with club governance and development.
- An understanding of the needs when delivering children's sports programs.
- Have previous experience in University student-based services within sport, competitions or events.
- Proven experience with software including point of sale, excel, booking systems and databases.
Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and may be subject to a National criminal history check.
What we can offer
This is a continuing opportunity based onsite at Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
HEW 4 Salary - Base range - $73,623.10 - $77,680.40 + 17% super. Full package range - $86,139.03 - $90,886.07.
