The Melbourne University Football Club (MUFC) has been a key player in the Australian football landscape since 1859, making us one of the oldest and most storied clubs in the country. With a rich history in both the VFL and amateur football, we are committed to fostering both player development and community engagement. As we prepare for the 2026 season, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Football Operations Intern to join our dynamic team.

Position

As the Football Operations Intern, you will support the Football department team in the day-to-day running of the club. You’ll gain valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of a successful community football club while developing skills that will benefit your career in sports management.

The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and have a strong passion for football and sports operations. A background or interest in sports management or football will be highly regarded.

You’ll be working closely with the Football Operations Manager and Game Day Coordinator, as well as other key members of the club’s leadership team.

  • Training Support: Help set up and coordinate training sessions and track player attendance.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain player databases, handle communications, and assist with scheduling.
  • Event Assistance: Help plan and coordinate club events, including social events, fundraisers, and community activities.
  • Game Reports: Assist with post-match reports and team analysis.
  • Support on Game Days: Aid in the smooth running of game day activities, including supporting volunteers, player needs, and logistics.
  • Assist with Merchandise: Support in selling merchandise during game day.
