Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) is a leading ELC to Year 12 independent day and boarding school, focusing on the development of the whole person. The College has an outstanding academic tradition, an international outlook, and robust pastoral and co-curricular programs.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Aquatic Centre Manager, this position is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and staffing established Learn To Swim and Water Safety Programs for the College and wider community. The role ensures the smooth running of the day-to-day activities in the centre and works closely with swim staff, parents, teachers, students, and external stakeholders.
PLC invites applications from candidates with an aquatics background for this full-time, ongoing position. This role is shared with another Learn to Swim & Programs Coordinator as a result of growth within our Aquatics department since the opening of our new Joan Montgomery Centre. Hours of work include morning and afternoon/evening shifts, spread across Monday to Saturday.
ABOUT YOU
You have a passion for the education of swimming, water safety and survival skills in children of all ages, are a strong team player and mentor, and are a highly competent administrator. Your exceptional customer service skills make it easy for you to liaise with a wide range of people, and your strong organisational skills ensure your days are easily managed.
You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, an understanding of young people (swim students and Learn to Swim staff), strong ICT skills, a solutions-focused attitude and a positive work ethic.
Essential to this role is demonstrated experience in a swim centre environment. Postgraduate studies in Sports Administration (or similar) would be highly regarded. You will also need to provide evidence of current AUSTSWIM/Swim Australia Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent) and Lifeguard qualifications.
