About the Role

Hooked Swim is seeking a dedicated Swim School Supervisor to oversee the high-quality delivery of our Learn-to-Swim, Mini Squad, and Junior Squad programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring program consistency, accurate swimmer assessments, instructor support, and smooth communication with families. As a Supervisor, you will act as both a mentor and quality control lead, helping our swimmers and instructors achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment Leadership
    • Conduct swimmer assessments at designated weeks and ad-hoc reviews as needed.
    • Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and timely completion of all swimmer evaluations.
    • Finalise swimmer data by Week 9 and oversee outstanding assessments before Week 10.
  • Instructor Oversight & Support
    • Review and confirm instructor assessments and lesson documentation.
    • Mentor and coach instructors to align with weekly objectives and curriculum.
    • Assist with scheduling, staff cover, and fortnightly timesheets.
  • Program Delivery & Compliance
    • Monitor lesson quality and ensure adherence to curriculum and weekly stroke focus.
    • Support make-up lessons, catch-up assessments, and private lesson opportunities.
  • Progression & Reporting
    • Approve student progressions and issue certificates.
    • Communicate clearly with parents/guardians about student progress.
  • Enquiries & Enrolments
    • Respond to new student enquiries, conduct assessments, and assist with enrolments.
    • Arrange squad trials and finalise placement recommendations.
  • Operational Tasks
    • Ensure pool and program setup daily, including enrolments, class sheets, and equipment.
    • Oversee pack-up and pool closure at the end of shifts.
  • Flexibility & Adaptation
    • Adjust schedules and assessments to accommodate public holidays, new enrolments, irregular attendance, and short terms.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of stroke technique and swim teaching standards
  • High attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
  • Ability to coach staff constructively and support student progression
  • Adaptable, responsive, and empathetic communicator

Required Qualifications

  • Austswim (or equivalent swim teaching accreditation)
  • Current CPR & First Aid certification
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Supervisor/assessor training (desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years’ swim instruction or coaching experience

Success in This Role

  • Assessments delivered accurately and on time
  • 100% completion of swimmer evaluations by Week 10
  • Instructors meeting documentation and lesson planning standards
  • High family satisfaction with progress updates
  • Student progression aligned with program outcomes
