About the Role
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Gymnastics Sports Development Coordinator with advanced coaching accreditation in Men’s or Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG or WAG). This full-time leadership role combines hands-on coaching with strategic program development, staff management, and competition coordination.
You’ll lead the delivery of athlete pathways from recreational participation to competitive performance, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and athlete-centred environment. You’ll also play a key role in shaping the future of gymnastics at Hunter Sports Centre by driving innovation, community engagement, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced-level coaching in MAG or WAG across school, recreational, development, and competitive streams.
- Lead program design, scheduling, and evaluation aligned with Gymnastics Australia frameworks.
- Manage competition entries and represent the Centre at events in a coaching or judging capacity.
- Plan and deliver competitions hosted at the Centre, including logistics and staffing.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of coaching staff.
- Ensure compliance with child-safe standards, WHS protocols, and risk management procedures.
- Monitor enrolments and optimise class structures to maximise cost recovery and program sustainability.
- Foster strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners.
- Ensure gymnastics equipment is well maintained.
- Contribute to budget planning, equipment procurement, and fee reviews.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum Gymnastics Australia Advanced Coaching Accreditation (MAG or WAG)
- Proven experience coaching a wide range of ages and abilities
- Strong technical skills across all apparatus
- Demonstrated ability to develop athletes to a high calibre
- Excellent leadership, organisation, and time management skills
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Fire Warden PUAFER005 & PUAFER008 (or ability to obtain)
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and competitions
- Australian citizenship or valid working rights
Desirable Criteria:
- FIG Advanced Coaching Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in competition coordination and event delivery

Hours of Work:
This role requires flexibility to meet operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and split shifts. Specific arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.
