Location: Flexible across Victoria (some regional travel maybe required)

About the Role

The Sports Administrator will play a pivotal role in strengthening participation, leadership, and inclusion within the Victorian skateboarding community. This role will focus on:

  • Boosting leadership and participation in Skateboarding by growing our network of Affiliates, Coaches, and Volunteers across Victoria.
  • Engaging local governments to support and sustain club and coaching initiatives across Victoria.
  • Expanding participation pathways for All-Abilities communities and First Nations peoples.
  • Supporting the delivery of Skateboarding Victorias inclusion programs, ensuring skateboarding is accessible, welcoming, and empowering for all.

Key Responsibilities

Inclusion & Participation

  • Support the establishment of new clubs with a focus on female-led and female-managed models.
  • Develop and implement programs that encourage women and girls to become coaches and leaders in skateboarding.
  • Coordinate training opportunities to build skills, confidence, and pathways into leadership and coaching roles.
  • Sustain and grow grassroots participation by fostering environments led *by women, for women*.

Local Government Engagement

  • Build partnerships with councils across Victoria to support new clubs, coaching initiatives, and inclusive skatepark programs.
  • Advocate for female-friendly and inclusive facility design, programming, and governance.

All-Abilities Participation

  • Work with our clubs to support the delivery of All-Abilities programs, including the design and rollout of Freedom Frames in partnership with Disability Sport and Recreation Victoria.
  • Assist in building a coaching framework that equips clubs and coaches to deliver safe, accessible, and inclusive programs.

First Nations Engagement

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the SV’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
  • Support engagement with local First Nations communities to identify and reduce participation barriers.
  • Ensure cultural safety and inclusivity across VSA programs and events.

Administrational Focus

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the SV Board and Committees, including agendas, minutes, and governance compliance.
  • Membership & Compliance - support the management of affiliate membership records, compliance monitoring, and policy implementation.
  • Assist in the development and rollout of Skateboarding Victoria’s next strategic framework, including stakeholder consultation and reporting.
  • General Administration - Undertake other administrative and coordination tasks as required, ensuring effective day-to-day operations.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in sports administration, community engagement, or program coordination.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion principles and commitment to advancing opportunities for women, girls, people with disabilities, and First Nations peoples
  • Proven administrative skills, including secretariat support and membership compliance management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build partnerships across local government, community groups, and clubs.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
