About the team – The Sports Intelligence & Analytics team leverages data to enhance athlete performance and deliver a competitive advantage to Australia’s high-performance system. The team delivers data engineering, data analytics, data science and data governance support and leads the administration of the Athlete Management System for the Australian high-performance system.

About the role – The role will be responsible in providing support in relation to the delivery of the Athlete Management System (AMS). The support consultant will assist in projects, implement methods aimed at improving data quality and analysis and assist in support-related tickets.

In consultation with internal and external stakeholders, implement the organisational strategic agenda to achieve section and business outcomes. This includes:

  • Develop knowledge and expertise in Smartabase as a technical expert and trusted advisor to the network.
  • Provide comprehensive support to sports, institutes, coaches, practitioners and athletes.
  • Liaise with a range of performance professionals to develop, evaluate and improve data capture and analysis methods for AMS.
  • Liaise with end users of the data to ensure that data emanating from the system will provide reliable support for athletes, coaches, scientists/clinicians, and management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and other resources that deliver business outcomes for the ASC.
  • Actively promote and role model the ASC values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect and Teamwork, and contribute to positive organisational change, effective communication, and continuous improvement at the ASC.

About you – 

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the field of sports management, sport science, information management, information technology, or business administration.
  • Experience in high performance sport (or other high-performance area).
  • Detailed knowledge and technical expertise of Smartabase.
  • Detailed knowledge of AMS administration structure.
  • Technology support, implementation, and system management experience
  • Collaborative skills: work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Communications skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and customer support duties, and must also be comfortable communicating complex concepts to others having diverse levels of seniority and technical competence
  • Customer service skills: demonstrated ability to provide customer support and deal with escalated customer issues
  • Problem-solving skills: drive to offer solutions to problems, as well as with a passion for innovation
  • Interpersonal skills: effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally
  • Organizational skills: multi-task, effectively prioritize work, and adapt during pressured situations.

This position is offered as a casual position.
