The ICF Slalom World Championships are coming to Penrith Whitewater Stadium, NSW!

In the 2 weeks prior to the event (15-25 September 2025), we are welcoming over 1000 school children to the venue, to watch and be inspired as international athletes practice, learn more about the stadium and paddle sports as well as take part in fun activities.

We are looking for additional volunteers to support the venue tour portion of this schools excursion. Given the time commitment, an honorarium payment via gift card will be given per session delivered

3.5 hour (9am-12.30pm or 11.30am-3pm) and 6 hours (9am-3pm) shifts are available (please see 'How to apply' section) .

About this role:

Tour Guides will give a curated tour around the stadium. Each tour consists of 

  • Showing groups around the stadium, giving insights into slalom and kayak cross disciplines, sharing information about the site and its heritage as well as showcasing sustainability, biodiversity, and conservation in action. 
  • Fun games on a dry-land mini slalom course
  • Trying on PFD and sitting in kayaks/canoes

Knowledge of Paddle sports is an advantage, but not a necessity as full training (including crib notes) will be given. We will also be delivering an in-person orientation at the venue during w/c 8 September 2025. 

Please note, to be eligible to apply, you must be at least 16 years old by 14th September 2025. If you are 18 or older and your application is successful, you will also be required to provide a valid Working with Children Check and complete the SIA course.
