About the role
The Mulgrave Country Club is a market leading sporting club with seven Sports Sections and a thriving hospitality business located in the heart of Mulgrave. With a new direction and a newly developed Sports Strategy, the Mulgrave County Club is looking for a full time Sports Events Officer to lead the implementation of our Sports Strategy and enhance club sports for the venue.
This role will see you bringing the sports strategy to life through collaboration with our sporting sections, and their committees, while engaging with members and patrons. You will manage the end-to-end coordination of a diverse range of sporting events and activities, from barefoot bowls to highly regarded squash and bowls tournaments, all while capturing content and promoting it through various marketing channels.
What you'll be doing
- Execute the Sports Strategy to increase participation and grow new opportunities for sport at the Club
- Develop and deliver an engaging events calendar to meet the needs of our current and future sports members.
- Liaise with stakeholders to plan, market, and deliver successful sporting events and activities, using communication channels to drive strong attendance and engagement.
- Measure and report on the success of events, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Provide administrative support, including database management and budget tracking for all club sports.
- Grow the number of social and member participants in sport and the number of sports played at the Club
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated experience implementing a sporting strategy and growing a sports business
- Demonstrated experience in event management, ideally within sports or recreation
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and execute marketing campaigns
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities, with attention to detail
- Creative flair and the ability to develop innovative sports and event concepts and experiences
- Passion for the sports and recreation industry, with a good understanding of member needs
- Tertiary qualifications in event management, sports management or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory
