About the role

The Crew Leader Swim Programs plays a pivotal role in managing the daily operations of swim programs at Council's leisure facilities. This role involves leading swim instructors and coaches, ensuring quality service delivery, and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and participants.  

As the Crew Leader, you will be responsible for the effective execution of swim classes, staff management, and adherence to safety standards, all while focusing on providing quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • a current AUSTSWIM qualification in teaching of swimming and water safety and infants
  • a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003)
  • a current Provide Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID 001 / HLTAID 009)
  • extensive experience managing a learn to swim program
  • proven leadership skills with the ability to positively motivate others 
  • experience in delivering high quality customer service to improve business performance

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $73.5k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $85.2k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation. Penalty rates apply for all weekend work.  
  • We have a permanent full-time role available.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
  • This role is located at the Toukley Aquatic Centre. 

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
