About the role
This role is looking for early career dietitians with 1-2 years’ experience and also postgraduate qualifications in Sports Dietetics. The position will fast-track development into an effective world class practitioner in High Performance sport. This is a 2-year position with structured professional and personal development over this period.
The role will include completion of the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition (funded by NSWIS) and management of a single sport program where you will be expected to understand the needs of the sport and athletes to apply optimal nutrition strategies that are relevant and connected to athlete goals and training demands. It will require the dietitian to connect and engage with athletes, coaches, and performance teams and be a valuable team member of the NSWIS nutrition team, actively contributing to nutrition initiatives and support the implementation of the NSWIS Nutrition Delivery Model to integrate nutrition services into targeted sports.
This is a 0.4 FTE part time role - 2 day per week position for a 24 month contract.
This is an identified position requiring a Working with Children Check.

About you
You bring to our Nutrition team:
- Min 1+ years’ experience in the provision of nutrition support
- Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Worked collaboratively as part of a high performing team/ organisation
- Highly developed communication skills including written, verbal, and interpersonal
- A commitment to driving innovation and contemporary application of nutrition strategies
- Undergraduate or Masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a DA accredited course
- Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status
- Completed or currently enrolled in 2025 Sports Dietitians Australia Sports Nutrition course (fully online OR hybrid)
