The Rabbitohs Health & Medical Clinic Physiotherapist plays a critical role in delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to both elite athletes and general clinic patients within the Rabbitohs Health & Medical Clinic. This position requires a strong foundation in injury assessment, rehabilitation program development, and patient education. The role is responsible for end-to-end care of patients, from initial assessment to return-to-play/work clearance, with a focus on compliance, professional standards and patient-centred outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis
- Conduct thorough injury assessments to determine the extent and nature of injuries.
- Develop accurate diagnoses using clinical reasoning and best practice techniques.
Rehabilitation Program Design & Implementation
- Design and deliver individualised rehabilitation plans tailored to the patient's injury, occupation, sport position, and recovery phase.
- Administer manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and appropriate modalities for optimal recovery.
Progress Monitoring & Adjustments
- Continuously evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Ensure timely updates, reporting and ongoing communication with relevant stakeholders including physicians and case managers.
Return to Work/Play Clearance
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine readiness for return to competitive sport or work.
- Ensure both physical and mental preparedness of the individual, prioritising safety and long-term performance.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and detailed health records as per the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).
- Prepare and submit clinical reports at key treatment milestones (initial, mid-treatment, final).
- Use practice management and claims software for record-keeping and appointment scheduling.
Client Education & Support
- Educate patients on injury mechanisms, rehab protocols, and preventive strategies to reduce risk of re-injury.
- Offer ongoing support and guidance throughout the rehabilitation process.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure all physiotherapy equipment is functional and maintained.
- Coordinate repairs and upgrades in collaboration with management as needed.
Outreach & Professional Development
- Represent Rabbitohs Health & Medical at seminars and presentations alongside the Practice Manager.
- Promote the clinic’s services to potential clients and stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in sport physiotherapy.
- AHPRA Registered physiotherapist with current practicing rights in Australia.
- SIRA Accreditation and knowledge of workers' compensation systems.
- Registered Provider Number with Rabbitohs Health & Medical Pty Ltd.
- Current Australian driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.
- All required professional insurances maintained.
- High-level proficiency in musculoskeletal assessment, manual therapy, and exercise prescription.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and patient interaction.
