About the role

The Learn to Swim Team Leader will manage and lead a team of Swim Teachers and ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets agreed standards. They will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals and support high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures.. You will have responsibility for your team, the health and safety of the facility and the enjoyment and safety of the visitors to the pool. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following;

  • Recognising pool water quality, plant room and cleanliness issues and acting accordingly
  • Working autonomously as well as being an active leader
  • Ensure designated programs and services are delivered in accordance with operating budgets, objectives and Key Performance Indicators, with support from the Area Coordinator as required
  • When designated as the Manager on Duty provide immediate support to customers, staff and contractors to ensure that agreed service and safety standards are met in all areas of the facility, consulting as appropriate with other leaders on site.

About you

You will have strong leadership skills to effectively manage a large team of staff in a busy aquatic environment. Aquatic Supervision will be a large focus of the role to ensure high levels of consistent supervision.

You will be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Essential Qualifications

  • Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Other Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Aquatic Technical Operator Skill Set Certificate
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of plant and Branch operational aspects
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
