Officer - Regional Sports Development
We have an exciting opportunity to join our sports participation team and be an active contributor to our life saving clubs and local assemblies.
This 0.8 FTE 2 year fixed term part-time position, includes a company vehicle and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring only 2 days per week in Traralgon. Reporting to the Project Manager of Sports Strategy, this position is focused on building strong and collaborative relationships between clubs and volunteers to grow regional capacity and promote inclusive sports participation and enhance access for communities.
The role has a number of internal and external stakeholders and requires excellent client management and proactive engagement with others. Tasks include:
- Working closely with club committee representatives and local members. Identifying existing events and programs and support the planning of future activities based on the specific needs of clubs and the Victoria region.
- Collaborating and building relationships with local likeminded organisations, regional assemblies, local councils, and community organisations and facilities to identify cross collaboration opportunities, events and initiatives.
- Supporting the Lead Coordinator of Development in enhancing the skills and capabilities of volunteers in sport, including athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteer carnival personnel.
- Coordinating the support, development, and delivery of developmental opportunities through accredited training programs, professional development initiatives, targeted interventions, and resources.
- Build club and regional capacities by increasing their skills, equipment and access to tools, and supporting the review of methods for the regular improvement of leadership and development processes.
- Coordinating the planning, creation, and scheduling of engaging social media content and promotional material to promote carnivals, state teams, national results, volunteer training, and other key initiatives.

You are experienced in coordinating and working with volunteers, with strong administration skills and a continuous improvement mind-set.?You are an exceptional collaborator who is comfortable communicating at all levels. You have excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

- Background in sports management, community development, or a related area - whether through tertiary qualification, prior experience or volunteer involvement.
- Strong understanding of athlete coaching and official development accreditation and workforce planning.
- Proven experience in relationship and stakeholder management, with a strong ability to communicate effectively across diverse groups and a commitment to continuously improve engagement and collaboration.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, social media platforms and IT systems including database management.
- Current Australian Drivers License and the ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and after hours.
