The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Rowing Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This unique opportunity allows you to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of young rowers and drive excellence throughout all phases of the rowing program.

The Rowing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the rowing program is effectively incorporating the school's work in student development and is focused on supporting students within the program in the development of skills, competencies and capacities in the social and emotional domain. The role has overall responsibility for student wellbeing and safety within the program.

The Rowing Coordinator will promote the reputation and ethos of Clarendon through effective communication about rowing events, detailed planning and maintaining effective relationships with all stakeholders involved in Clarendon's sporting program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend land and water training sessions for their allocated squad/s during Terms 1, 3 and 4.
  • Attend all camps, regattas and boat unloading for allocated squad/s.
  • Attend the Australian Rowing Championships (if coaching a crew attending).
  • Provide mentoring and support for volunteer coaches in executing the prescribed technical model and training program.
  • Collate data (ergos and technical evaluations).
  • Provide recommendations to the Head of Rowing in relation to crew selections in allocated squad/s.
  • Ensure all safety requirements are followed and adhered to.
  • Attend rowing staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
  • Maintain all coaching and rowing equipment.
  • Coach an allocated crew (at discretion of the Head of Rowing).
