About Bicycle SA
Bicycle South Australia (Bike SA) is the peak body for recreational and commuter cycling in the state. With over 4,500 members and a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality rides and programs, we promote cycling for fun, fitness, tourism and transport. Each year, Bike SA engages more than 70,000 South Australians through events, education, advocacy, and cycling holidays - showcasing the best of urban and regional South Australia.
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and well-organised Event Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of our cycling events across the state. From large-scale regional tours to community-focused one-day rides, you’ll help create positive experiences for riders of all ages and backgrounds. This is a hands-on, logistics-focused role ideal for someone who enjoys practical coordination, planning, and working in a small team.
You’ll be based at our office and warehouse in Keswick and travel to regional South Australia for key events throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support one-day and community rides such as the Grand Slam Challenge, Ride for Her, La Grande Gita and more
- Assist with planning and delivery of multi-day regional cycling tours such as the Flinders Escape, Outback Odyssey and Annual Tour
- Manage packing, transport and set-up of event gear, signage and supplies
- Oversee warehouse operations and maintain inventory of marquees, signage, tools and equipment
- Liaise with councils, suppliers and community partners to support route planning and logistics
- Support volunteer communications, rostering and on-ground crew coordination
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive event environment
- Contribute to event documentation and post-event evaluation
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, is calm under pressure, and can bring energy and structure to a fast-paced event environment. You’ll ideally have:
- Experience in event coordination, logistics or practical project delivery
- Experience in regional tourism, community events or outdoor recreation
- Knowledge of recreational cycling, the cycling industry or bike touring (preferred)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confidence working with volunteers, casual staff and external partners
- Familiarity with event risk management and safety
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, packing and equipment handling
- Willingness to travel regionally as part of the role
Qualifications & Requirements
- Event, logistics or tourism experience
- Manual driver’s licence (essential)
- MR or HR licence (desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
