About the role:
As Swim School Manager you’ll lead a passionate team to deliver high-quality Learn to Swim and School Programs with a strong focus on safety, inclusion, and customer experience. You'll foster a culture of development and collaboration, drive strategic objectives, and ensure programs align with industry best practice and progression pathways into squad swimming. With oversight of staffing, budgets, marketing, and stakeholder engagement, you’ll manage all aspects of program performance, efficiency, and growth. You’ll also ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, while actively identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation across the Swim School.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Provide clear, inclusive leadership to the Swim School team fostering a culture of safety, learning, and development aligned with SSCT values
- Identify skill gaps and support professional development while acting as the point of escalation for team and customer issues
- Oversee high-quality, efficient delivery of Learn to Swim and School Programs ensuring alignment with industry standards and progression pathways
- Collaborate with coaches, Aquatics and Marketing teams to enhance curriculum, promote programs and drive customer engagement
- Lead the team to achieve business plan objectives and set KPIs aligned with strategic goals
- Monitor program performance and provide monthly reporting on occupancy, enrolments, cancellations and progression
- Develop, manage and report on the Swim School budget, ensuring financial performance aligns with targets
- Drive operational efficiency through smart rostering, staff management and wage control
- Ensure all safety systems, audits and checklists are maintained to meet legal, regulatory and industry compliance
- Promote a safe environment for participants and staff, with a strong focus on daily operational safety standards
- Build strong internal partnerships across SSCT teams to support program success
- Maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders to enhance program delivery and community engagement
Required skills and Qualifications:
- Current Victorian Working with Children Check
- First Aid/CPR Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in program management (preferably within a sporting environment)
- Strong time management skills and an ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong supervisory and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated significant leadership and management experience in program delivery within a sporting or venue setting
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the aquatics sector
