Description

The Western Force is a professional rugby union team based in Western Australia competing in the elite Super Rugby Pacific and Super W competitions.

As an organisation, the Force has a proud history, having been formed in 2004 and making its Super Rugby debut in 2006 at its original home, Subiaco Oval. Backed by Tattarang, the club operates at the highest level of sporting professionalism in Western Australia and has a strong presence nationally and internationally.

We are seeking a Head Performance Analyst with The Western Force. You will play a crucial role in shaping the success of the team through data and video collection, meticulous analysis, insightful interpretation of data, and effective collaboration with coaching staff and players.

Key Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the Western Force analysis department in delivering performance analysis to the Super Rugby Pacific
  • Developing and implementing performance analysis strategy in conjunction with Head Coach that are aligned to the team’s goals
  • Conducting detailed analysis of training sessions and matches (both live and post event), providing feedback to coaches and players on individual and team performance
  • Together with the Assistant Analyst, preview opposition teams identifying tactical feedback to coaches and players
  • Use analysis software and technology, create reports, presentations and visualisations to communicate key findings
  • Continuously seeking ways to improve the analysis department by keeping up to date with the latest technologies and ahead of the game
  • Work closely with Talent Identification Coordinator to contribute to the recruitment process
  • Have oversite of Academy and Pathways programs as required including the development of an internship program

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 year degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis or related field
  • Minimum 4 years in High Performance Rugby Union team including high level of understanding of Rugby Union rules, strategies and tactics.
  • Ability to manage the end-to-end analysis lifecycle, from data collection and manipulation through to delivery and education.
  • Excellent technology capabilities, with ability to expertly use common video analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner utilising both video and data.
  • Outstanding time management and coordination ability.
  • Strong work ethic; Detail-oriented with a passion for continuous learning and improvement
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently / self-manage as required
