The Sport Services team is responsible for the delivery of triathlon through a range of services and programs provided to participants, coaches, and clubs across Australia.

About the Role

The Head of NT State Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of events and operations for triathlon and multisport in the Northern Territory. The role has a strong focus on grassroots growth, working to build participation and support the local triathlon community.

AusTriathlon (AusTri) is the national governing body for the sport of triathlon in Australia. As a not-for-profit organisation, AusTri is committed to ensuring the success and sustainable future of triathlon and multisport. Our mission is to make the sport easier to access, more relevant, and more rewarding for a diverse triathlon community.

AusTriathlon operates within a framework of nationally recognised working behaviours and maintains close ties with State and Territory Triathlon Associations (STTAs), ensuring strong collaboration across the country.

Position Capabilities and Responsibilities

The following responsibilities outline the key requirements of the role but are not intended to be exhaustive:

  • Collaborate with the Sport Services team to drive initiatives and operations across Programs, Membership, Clubs, and Coach Education, ensuring quality experiences for the South Australian community.
  • Plan and deliver local races and events as required.
  • Work cross-functionally across AusTriathlon business areas.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NT Race Directors and the NT Government.
  • Coordinate state operations in the Northern Territory.
  • Manage state budgets and oversee grant acquittals.
  • Support good governance through the NT Triathlon Board.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Measures of success may include, but are not limited to:

  • Sustained investment and delivery of triathlon and multisport experiences in the NT.
  • Development of a well-supported network of volunteers, clubs, coaches, and race directors.
  • Engagement with State and Local Governments to support ongoing investment in the sport.
  • Active engagement with the NT Board.
  • Successful delivery of State Awards and Recognition events.
  • Coordination and delivery of participation programs and initiatives for the NT community.
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours when working with children.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience within a State Sporting Organisation (SSO) or similar.
  • Demonstrated success in a participation or operations-focused role.
  • Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Working With Children Check and Police Clearance.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, Safeguarding and Children and Young People policies.

Desirable:

  • Strong business acumen including experience with P&L responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Sport Management or related field.
