We are seeking a permanent, full-time Head Tennis Coach to lead our program.  

As the Head Coach of Tennis, you will lead development of staff and students to drive Ascham Tennis to the next level. This will involve developing an innovative and engaging tennis program that includes IPSHA and IGSA Team Tennis over the summer season, weekend Development Squads and Tennis Lessons over the year and throughout the holidays. The overarching focus is on maximising the positive effects of school sports involvement for our students in addition to providing a highly sort after Community Tennis Program. 

What You Will Do 

• Provide leadership for a beginner through to representative players across both the Junior and Senior School.  
• Provide effective leadership to student-athletes to support both successful academic development and sporting excellence.  
• Liaise effectively with the Head of Sport, Sports administration team and various stakeholders about the Football program including strategic priorities, program administration, scheduling and student wellbeing.  
• Take a pro-active approach to monitoring and maintaining health and safety standards within the program including injury prevention and incident management.  
• Perform other duties as required by the Head of Sport.

What You Will Bring 

• A Development Level Coaching Qualification in Tennis (or willingness to obtain this qualification).  
• Demonstrated Tennis coaching experience within a youth sports context with a strong background across the 4-18 years age bracket.  
• An ability to be an effective team member, including initiative, passion, willingness to collaborate and people management skills to drive holistic sports involvement.  
• Proven experience in coaching and/or leading other coaches in their discipline  
• Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member 
• Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles 
• A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
