Swimming is Australia’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic sport and there has never been a more exciting time to join our team. Following the success in Paris 2024 and with the green and gold runway to Brisbane 2032, our High Performance team is on the look out for a dynamic and visionary professional to support delivery on our ambitious goals within our high performance culture.

We are looking for someone who is aligned with our values of Courage, Unity and Excellence to support the High Performance leadership team by managing, tracking and reporting project life cycles. As an agile project and governance officer, you will play a crucial role in managing both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication, and enhancing the overall project experience through continuous improvement whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. This exciting opportunity is a Permanent Full-Time position working in a hybrid model between home and the Brisbane office.

About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager of High Performance, the principal duties of this role include:

  • Lead or support project management processes, ensuring methodologies and outcomes align with strategic priorities
  • Utilise world best practice processes for the management and delivery of strategic projects, where relevant using new technologies (eg. GenAI) to enhance productivity and outcomes
  • Act as the main HP contact for Sports Integrity Australia, managing confidential athlete-related matters - SIA education and athlete agreement requirements for Olympic, Paralympic and Open Water athletes
  • Manage the annual categorisation processes, selection meetings and handle appeals processes
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the High Performance Senior Management Group to achieve organisational goals, targets and objectives
  • Support and coordinate necessary communication both internally and externally with High Performance partner organisations such as the Australian Sports Commission, National Institute Network and other program partners

About you:

What you will bring to the role:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar governance or project management role. Experience in sporting industry desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive documentation with appropriate discretion
  • Experience with new and novel project management and knowledge sharing systems such as Microsoft 365 and Co-pilot, Notion, Miro or alternatives (highly desirable). 
  • Proven ability to remain calm and work under pressure, prioritise and manage resources to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written), negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and skilled in developing strong relationships; influencing and motivating staff and key stakeholders
  • Able to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters ongoing mutual respect and trust
