About the role
The Tennis Development Officer - Country South East will contribute to the National vision to create a playful world through tennis and Tennis Victoria's purpose of creating safe and inclusive thriving Victorian tennis communities, enabling more people to play more often from Drouin to Mallacoota.
Key to this role is to support the delivery of the Thriving Tennis Communities (TTC) framework in the region and build the capability of our stakeholders and affiliates to deliver thriving, safe, inclusive, and welcoming tennis communities.
In this role you will:
- Focus on the servicing of clubs, schools, coaches and competition deliverers by developing positive relationships within the region to influence, adopt and drive change.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Pathways, Coach Leaders, Places to Play and Inclusion to support planning and tennis delivery in the region.
- Drive strong safeguarding and inclusive practices to support clubs in creating safe, welcoming and inclusive environments.
- Support venues to provide quality programming and opportunities to increase junior and youth participation.
- Support and train volunteers to use appropriate participation and registration systems endorsed by Tennis, including ClubSpark.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A Sports Management Degree and/or a relevant introductory coaching qualification (desirable).
- A current driver's licence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders
- across a wide range of organisations including volunteers, coaches, associations and councils.
- Demonstrated understanding of sports administration, ideally gleaned through volunteer experience in club or
association level community sport. - A current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain).
- A preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis VIC.
