About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Senior 1st Girls crew and will work closely with the Director of Rowing, Head Coach and broader coaching team to cultivate a positive, high-performance environment. This role encompasses both on-water and land-based coaching, as well as active involvement in regattas, training camps, and the continued development of a strong and inclusive rowing culture.
This is a casual position, with competitive hourly rates based on the applicant’s coaching qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the training and performance development of the Senior 1st VIII Girls crew
- Design and deliver progressive, high-quality training programs
- Attend and support athletes at weekend regattas, training camps, and key school rowing events
- Mentor student-athletes and promote a cohesive and aspirational team culture
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Rowing, Head Coach and coaching team to align with the program’s strategic direction
About You
We are seeking enthusiastic, committed coaches who are passionate about rowing and developing young athletes. Ideal candidates will be motivated team players with experience in school, club, or high-performance sport environments. The ability to engage positively with students, parents, and staff across the Redlands community is essential.
Experience working with high school-aged students is highly regarded, as is previous involvement in elite or competitive rowing - either as a coach or athlete. Strong interpersonal and organisational skills are essential to contribute effectively to our collaborative coaching environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Prior coaching experience at the Senior School or Club level (experience with 1st female crews highly regarded)
- Rowing Australia Level 1 (minimum) coaching accreditation
- Current NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
- A genuine commitment to athlete development and team performance
