Description

The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have an ambitious new Strategic Vision and we need the best players on our team to help us deliver real results for the sporting sector and all Australians.

Are you up for the challenge?

About the team - Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. Sporting Schools programs are provided free to children and their families to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life.

The team works closely with two major groups of stakeholders, national sporting organisations (NSOs) and over 85% of schools around Australia. This role promotes and celebrates the work being done across the breadth of a national program, as well as being a conjugate across the ASC.

About the role - This role ensures the Sporting Schools online presence is engaging, current, and valuable for stakeholders across the sport and education sectors. This role also plays a key role as conjugate across the major stakeholder groups who bring the program to life, in order to share the reach and successes across a national program.

In partnership with Program leaders, you will lead the development and delivery of high-quality digital content and user experiences to support the strategic objectives of the Sporting Schools program. This includes:

  • Implement organisational strategic priorities through compelling, high-quality digital content including written materials, graphics, and videos ensuring all content aligns with ASC brand, messaging, and program goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of digital content and user experiences based on school and stakeholder engagement insights.
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Sporting Schools program. Including overseeing the management of the Sporting Schools website, ensuring it remains a leading resource for Australian schools and sports organisations.
  • Lead discussions with program stakeholders to gather feedback and translate user needs into digital improvements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to deliver consistent and integrated digital experiences and support internal stakeholders in effectively communicating program offerings through digital channels.
  • Assist in preparing insightful reports and recommendations for senior management, with a focus on digital performance, user engagement, and continuous optimisation.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of policies, guidelines, and tools that support digital engagement and business outcomes for ASC.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to deliver high-quality outcomes and establish and maintain effective partnerships with key internal and/or external stakeholders to identify and deliver high quality business outcomes.

About you - The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in web content management, digital communications, or a related field, preferrable.
  • Proven experience managing customer-facing content aligned with strategic organisational goals.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of senior internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-impact content.
  • Sound understanding of technology platforms and customer-facing digital technologies (e.g. CMS, CRM, analytics tools).
  • Evidence-based approach, with experience applying research and data to inform digital content decisions and provide strategic advice.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communication, including the ability to produce high-quality content and respond efficiently and effectively within team environments.

This position is offered as a fixed-term position until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of being extended.
