As the national governing body, Basketball Australia (BA), in conjunction with our State & Territory member associations, is at the forefront of promoting, fostering, and developing the sport of basketball across the country. BA is responsible for safeguarding the sport in Australia.

What is the Role?

We are seeking a passionate and highly organised Administration Coordinator - Women and Girls to provide critical support to the Women and Girls function at Basketball Australia. This role is critical in coordinating and delivering the schedule of programs that are associated with She Hoops and the Play Our Way funded programs. If you are a gun administrator, highly organised and have excellent attention to detail, we would love to hear from you!

The role is part time up to 3 days a week with some additional hours required from time to time. The role is located on site at the State Basketball Centre, Wantirna South Victoria. We practice flexible working to promote work life balance for our teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the administration to support the delivery of the schedule of programs and events associated with She Hoops and the Play our Way funded programs including She Hoops Holiday Camps, around Australia, Future Leaders Program, Participation Camps, Leadership Camps & Leadership & Confidence Scholarships
  • Plan and execute administration of small to large events, including venue hire, invitations, running sheets etc
  • Administer the logistics of basketball activities and programs including booking venues, travel, transport for all participants including staff, accommodation and liaison with the local basketball associations.
  • Manage and prioritise stakeholder needs in delivery of the different program logistics.
  • Transact business as usual processes such as invoicing, meeting set up etc, minutes.
  • Ordering and coordination of all uniforms, merchandise, equipment or inventory for all She Hoops and Play our Way events, activities etc.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and She Hoops Lead to administer the deliverables of each of the programs She Hoops delivers.
  • Execute financial administration transactions to support the program including purchase orders, invoice payments and tracking of expenses
  • Other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience (see full job description also)

  • Established experience in administrating and supporting multiple programs in a multi faceted stakeholder environment.
  • Qualifications in business administration or similar preferred.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing administration templates, processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Dropbox.
  • Previous experience in a sporting environment would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Highly capable administrator.
  • Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks - scheduling, venue bookings, compliance documentation, and logistics.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in prioritising under time constraints (e.g., during tournaments or game seasons).
  • Ability to execute tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Customer service mindset with the ability to resolve queries diplomatically.
  • Highly organised who can communicate exceptionally well in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships across various stakeholders via consistent communications, positive engagement, and excellent support.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • Team player, who is agile, flexible and respectful of others.
  • Committed to contributing positively to the Basketball Australia office and work culture.
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a small team, and follow-up on tasks independently through to completion.
