The MGGS Rowing Program follows a model that takes a holistic approach to the student-athlete, to ensure all girls are well equipped and well balanced to perform to a high standard on water, in the classroom and anywhere in between.
MGGS Rowing is founded on the school values of Integrity, Compassion, Courage and Self-discipline. The program brings these values to life through the establishment, development and execution of the key fundamentals necessary for a program to thrive on and off water. Through the power of an inclusive, vibrant and welcoming rowing community, girls will discover and develop their confidence, passions and potential for optimal physical and mental wellbeing and performance.
Reporting to the Head of Rowing, Rowing Coaches support the effective delivery of the MGGS Rowing Program, through the direct coaching of crews and individuals and attending the camps and regattas throughout the season.
Positions are available across Junior, Intermediate and Senior programs. The Junior program promotes a fun and safe environment for students to challenge themselves and ensure the development of student skills to achieve the Junior squad’s desired outcomes and prepare for senior rowing. The Senior program focuses on high-performance, with a proud history of success, built on by another fantastic performance at national’s last season.
The successful candidates must have flexible availability. The MGGS Rowing season runs from Term 3, 2025 to the end of Term 1, 2026 – this role will be expected to work throughout these terms as well as during the December/January school holidays.
The successful candidates will have:
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check;
- Current HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID0011 Provide First Aid certificate (previously 001 and 003) or be prepared to acquire;
- NCAS Level 1 Coaching Accreditation (Rowing);
- Community Coaching Essential Skills Course; and
- Current Victoria Boat Licence.
