Location: Hybrid and within our offices at either Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide or Perth.
Employment Type: Fixed term contract to 30 June 2026.

You'll collaborate closely with the wider PA Pathways Team to ensure alignment and integration across programs. Please note, occasional interstate travel and weekend work will be required.

About the Role
Under the guidance of the Entry Pathways Lead, the Pathways Specialist - Disability Sport will drive a program of activity to enhance the connection between introductory and foundational level disability sport programs and Para-sport pathways. The position aims to build relationships with disability sport and support organisations to increase awareness of and exposure to Para-sport pathways within communities of people with eligible impairments. 

  • Activate and optimise disability sport and support organisations as key entry points to Para-sport pathways.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships across the disability sport sector to support athlete identification and development.
  • Drive initiatives to increase participation from under-represented impairment groups and broaden impairment diversity in Para-sport.
  • Strengthen connections between grassroots disability sport programs and national/state Para-sport pathways.
  • Collaborate with partners to enhance awareness of Para-sport pathways and performance opportunities.
  • Improve understanding of impairment-specific needs within the sport system through targeted partnerships.
  • Work closely with other specialists and the Entry Pathways Lead to grow and align entry pathway outcomes.

About You
Our ideal candidate will bring experience in disability sport, community engagement, and stakeholder coordination, with a deep understanding of the barriers faced by athletes with a disability. You are a proactive and collaborative team player, passionate about inclusion and social impact, and confident navigating fast-paced, high-performance sport environments.

  • Understanding of disability and barriers to entry and progression in Para-sport. 
  • Experience in the coordination and delivery of successful and impactful programs or projects including planning and tracking progress and delivering reports. 
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with stakeholders. 
  • Strong administrative and communication skills. 
  • Analysing problems and implementing effective solutions. 
  • Actively contributing to a high-performing team culture. 
  • Demonstrating self-motivation and proactive initiative.
