Location: Hybrid and within our offices at either Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney.
Employment Type: Fixed term contract to 30 June 2026.

You'll collaborate closely with the wider PA Pathways Team to ensure alignment and integration across programs. Please note, occasional interstate travel and weekend work will be required.

About the Role
Under the guidance of the Entry Pathways Lead, the Pathways Specialist – School Sport will lead a program of initiatives to activate and optimise school sport as a key entry point into Paralympic Performance Pathways. This role will focus on increasing opportunities for school students with eligible impairments to engage with and connect to Para-sport pathways. The specialist will also provide valuable support and insights to inform strategic and operational planning and reporting. Taking a strategic, system-wide approach, the position aims to boost awareness and understanding of Para-sport among school communities and enhance opportunities for students and staff to explore, participate in, and compete in Para-sport.

  • Activate and optimise School Sport as a key entry point into Paralympic Performance Pathways.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships across the School Sport sector to support Para-sport participation.
  • Expand inclusive participation and competition opportunities for students with disabilities within school sport programs.
  • Strengthen the connection between school sport and state/national Para-sport pathways.
  • Build the capability of school staff to deliver and support adaptive sport programs.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to streamline classification processes and increase awareness of Para-sport pathways.
  • Partner with the Australian Sports Commission to enhance Para-sport access through the Sporting Schools Framework.

About You

Our ideal candidate brings experience in education, sports administration, or community engagement, along with a strong understanding of disability and the barriers to Para-sport participation. You will thrive in a dynamic environment, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to drive inclusive initiatives that support student-athletes and promote social change.

  • Understanding of the education sector and Australian sport system. 
  • Understanding of disability and barriers to entry and progression in Para-sport. 
  • Experience in the coordination and delivery of successful and impactful programs or projects including planning and tracking progress and delivering reports. 
  • Education / training and development facilitation skills. 
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with stakeholders. 
  • Strong administrative and communication skills. 
  • Analysing problems and implementing effective solutions. 
  • Actively contributing to a high-performing team culture.
