Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to become Aquatic Program Instructors. In this role you will be required to deliver high quality learn to swim lessons to a variety of ages and skill levels. The Mentor Program will provide training and support and once completed will lead to casual employment as a learn to swim instructor.
The program includes:
AUSTSWIM’s Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Course
Practical training hours to complete your AUSTSWIM course
On the job training and support
CPR qualification
Work opportunities in other aquatic programs including birthday parties and school holiday programs
Salary
Casual Rate $31.02 per hour + super + weekend penalty rates

To be successful in the role you will need to:
Be able to complete a 100m swim test (includes 50m of freestyle, 50m of survival backstroke, backstroke, sidestroke or breaststroke and 2 minues of treading water)
Be available for a minimum of 2 days a week including 1 weekday and 1 weekend
Be able to work and teach in the water
Work with children/adults from diverse ages, backgrounds and swimming abilities
Have strong communication skills
Be enthusiastic about teaching an important life skill
In order to be employed as an AUSTSWIM Instructor you will need the following:
Working with Children Check
CPR qualification (obtained as part of the program)
Key Dates
Attend an information session on Monday 16 June 2025
Attend the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Course on Saturday 21 June and Sunday 22 June 2025
