Lead sustainable cricket education and participation programmes across the Whanganui region. This role champions junior and youth development through clear pathways and inclusive, engaging delivery. Working as part of a small, passionate team, this position ensures Cricket Whanganui’s strategic goals are met by empowering players, volunteers, schools, and clubs to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of NZC and CW coaching programmes (e.g. Smash Play, Hubs, Yeah! Girls!).
Drive engagement and development in junior and youth cricket through skill-focused player pathway initiatives.
Design and lead community awareness sessions and cricket education in schools.
Support the General Manager with strategic planning alignment, particularly in relation to SNPI delivery.
Coordinate representative teams: trial promotion, coach/manager appointments, logistics, and tournament preparation ad tournament delivery.
Oversee secondary school competitions, draw management, and PlayHQ support.
Lead development of CW’s Volunteer Plan, including activator training and maintaining the volunteer database.
Build strong working relationships with CW, CD and NZC colleagues, clubs, schools, and the wider community.
Collaborate on end-of-season recognition events and pre-season development plans.
Deliver participation initiatives funded through NZC Contestable Funds.
Support facility usage planning and indoor facility coordination, as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements
Experience in sports development, youth engagement or community delivery roles.
Strong interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills.
NZC Level 2 Coaching Certificate or equivalent (or willingness to attain).
Full NZ driver’s licence and ability to travel regionally.
Police vetting clearance (mandatory).
Prepared to work flexible hours, particularly during the summer peak season.
