Coaching at Brisbane Girls Grammar School
The Sport Program at Brisbane Girls Grammar School offers 18 competitive and several non-competitive sporting activities. The School is a founding member of the Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA) competition, BGGS also participates in a range of Brisbane club association fixtures and offers a comprehensive Interhouse Program.
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking a Javelin coach to contribute to the School’s exceptional Sport Program. The coach’s role is to deliver coaching sessions that provide a safe environment for athletes and to develop throwing skills and enhance the enjoyment of the sport.
Experienced coaches may be paid on a casual basis (minimum two-hour shifts). Coaching commitments are two training sessions on weekdays (Monday and Wednesday), lead up meets (Friday afternoons) and the QGSSSA competition on 18 September, 2025 (all day). Pay rates vary according to experience, qualifications and coaching responsibilities.
Less experienced coaches may receive an honorarium in recognition of their voluntary contribution to the School and the development and support of students.
Trainings
Athletic training will commence in Term 2 and conclude at the end of Term 3. Students will train each Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 3.30pm-5.30pm at Jack Cook Park, Toowong.
Competition
The QGSSSA Athletics competition will be held on Thursday 18 September, 2025. This is a whole day event.
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience coaching girls from beginner to elite level
- Coaching and/or refereeing accreditation is desirable
- Professional presentation and manner
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
