About the Role:
Reporting to the National Tournament Coordinator, the Tournament Coordinator (QLD/NT) position based in the Queensland office and is responsible for the scheduling, delivery, growth and promotion of PGA Tournaments within Queensland, Northern Territory, Northern NSW and Papua New Guinea.
The Tournament Coordinator will also provide support to the Tournament Division through delivery and event procurement from time to time across the country and assisting with PGA Tour of Australasia events.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Pro-Am & Legends Tour Tournaments
- Develop an efficient tournament schedule consisting of Pro-Am Series & Legends Tour tournaments which meets the needs of promoters, the PGA Membership and supports the growth of PGA tournaments;
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders including promoters, sponsors, Golf Clubs and PGA Members;
- Delivery of events both independently and as part of a team in line with PGA Policies, Procedures and the R&A Rules of Golf;
- Monitoring of player conduct and enforcement of PGA Regulations and policies of the Association
- In conjunction with the PGA Marketing team, assist with the promotion of PGA Events through social and mainstream media channels.
PGA Tour of Australasia Tournaments
- Identify tournament opportunities and work in collaboration with the General Manager of Tournaments and Global Tour Relationships and Tour Development Manager in progressing leads;
- Provide rules and/or administrative support for PGA Tour of Australasia events.
PGA Programs and Events
- Have a thorough understanding of PGA programs and events in order to adequately answer member enquiries.
- Utilise relationships and event-based visits to promote PGA programs and events to members
Key Requirements
We are looking for a motivated individual, with the ability to co-ordinate and deliver PGA golf events and tournaments while focusing on growth and strengthening of the circuit in the region. This role is a great opportunity for an individual to develop their skills within sporting events, representing a well-established organisation across multiple states within Australia and internationally.
Mandatory
Desirable:
- Tertiary Qualification in Sports Management or Business
- Level 2 R&A Rules of Golf Accreditation
- Proven event and project management experience
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software including Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Highly developed written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills including public speaking
- Strong understanding of professional golf and the PGA of Australia
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
