Short DescriptionThe Player Education Manager is responsible for delivering Education programs to all South Sydney Rabbitohs players and Wellbeing programs to the pathways teams.

Detailed Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Deliver Wellbeing Programs to Pathways teams in conjunction with the Wellbeing Manager
  • Deliver Player Education Programs to all South Sydney Rabbitohs teams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the National Rugby League and NSW Rugby League and be the key first contact as it relates to Player Education
  • Deliver recruitment/employment programs for Rabbitohs players
  • Implement targeted training, workshops, tutoring and/or mentoring as relevant to the needs of the players
  • Liaise with the National Rugby League on wellbeing and education
  • In conjunction with the Wellbeing Manager, develop and implement a Player Welfare and Education Plan and Program for approval by the General Manager of Football and Head Coach
  • Work with external support to develop best practice procedures for wellbeing and education
  • Actively assist players to pursue their educational or vocational goals, including resume development, interview preparation, and development of industry contacts, development of networks amongst club members and sponsors and development of relationships with educational institutions

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and thorough documentation necessary
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability work well under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines 
  • Able to both work autonomously and as part of cross functional teams
  • A highly motivated, "can do" approach toward all given tasks

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • This role is part-time (24 hours per week)
  • Days worked will change from week to week depending on the training schedule, the candidate must be flexible
  • Ability to work Rabbitohs and Pathways matches and ad hoc events if requested
  • Work mobile phone is provided
Selection Criteria Essential
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Working with children check
  • Certificate IV in Career Development
  • Certificate in Elite Athlete Wellbeing
  • Passion for the sports industry
  • Comply with all NRL and South Sydney Rabbitohs rules and code of conduct
Desirable
  • Experience within Rugby League
