We’re currently seeking an experienced and passionate Health & Fitness Manager who can lead our Fitness Teams and who can deliver our core behaviours on a day to day basis at our Sydney Club in Ryde.

About the Role

Supporting the Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for delivering all of the club’s fitness products and maximising member experience. You will lead our member-centric retention plan that includes new member inductions, personalised fitness programs and reviews, and drive Personal Training.

You'll take responsibility for making sure the fitness products comply with brand standards at all times. You will have managerial duties and be responsible for regular one-to-ones with your team and use your skills and expertise to nurture and develop them to reach their personal best. You will also be responsible for member engagement and the level of service our members receive in the Health Club so it is up to you to further develop a highly member-centric team.

Your Key Areas of Focus:

  • Delivering a high quality member experience at all times;
  • Identifying and implementing new and innovative programs that supports Next gens position as a premium Fitness product;
  • Ensuring compliance with member retention strategies;
  • Ensuring highly efficient operation is in place consistently;
  • Managing quality, cost control and overseeing the rostering of Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, and Group Fitness
  • Driving member engagement through our social media channels
  • Providing leadership, motivation and innovation to the teams;
  • Recruiting, training and developing staff;
  • Proactively managing member feedback;
  • Ensuring gym equipment is maintained to an excellent standard;
  • Delivering operational support to all fitness departments of group exercise, personal training; and
  • Ensuring the overall cleanliness and exceptional presentation of the health and fitness areas;

About You

  • A passion for member engagement and high quality customer service;
  • Demonstrated senior management of gym, group exercise and personal training while ensuring safety, growth and quality;
  • Proven ability to develop, propose and implement ideas;
  • Experience with setting and meeting performance targets and motivating staff;
  • Possess natural leadership qualities;
  • Strong interest and passionate about health & fitness industry;
  • The ability to managing, mentor and motivate staff;
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver no and innovate fitness programs
  • Extensive operational experience and team focused qualities.

Selection Criteria Essential
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR
  • Working with children check
  • Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience within the industry;
  • Tertiary qualification within the Health/Fitness and Management field is favourable;
  • A current RSA and Senior First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain (desirable)
  • Recognized health and fitness qualifications to a minimum level of Certificate IV including Registration with Fitness Australia
  • Sound financial Skills; and
