As a result of a restructure, the VIS is seeking an experienced, passionate high performance professional, who is an achievement-oriented communicator, to manage sport program Head Coaches & Program Managers, NSO supported athletes & the Future Talent scholarship program ensuring the continual progression and improvement of athletes. You will also take the lead on performance pathways and performance services strategies and implementation.
Reporting to the Performance Director and based at the VIS headquarters at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park, the Performance Manager (Pathways) must possess the capacity to lead and support the development and implementation of effective performance plans for sports and athletes. To be successful in this challenging role you will have a good understanding of high performance pathways, be able to multi-task, with performance coaching or management experience thus demonstrating an understanding of the requirements of the development of elite athletes and coaches.
As a member of the management team the role will contribute to the implementation of the VIS strategic plan and organisational capability required to deliver results.
A strong emphasis will be placed on the successful applicant having demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, and experience of working in and leading a multi-disciplinary team environment. Having worked in a performance services environment will be an asset.
- University degree or equivalent in coaching, sport science or sports management
- Driver licence
- Working with children check
- Post Graduate/Masters qualification in a sport related field, management or leadership
