Detailed Description

The Bangkok Preparatory & Secondary International School swimming team has approximately 160 swimmers and the School has close to 1,000 students participating in curriculum swimming. It is one of a few major sports at the School where students compete regularly both within Thailand and Internationally. The School has a range of abilities from Learn to Swim, through to the A Squad, which has several Thai National qualifiers.

Under the direction of the Head of Aquatics, Bangkok Prep is extending and restructuring its squad programme and coaching requirements as well as association with an innovative swim club - the SLI Seals. Operating out of the best indoor swim training facilities in Bangkok, the Development Coach will work under one of the most successful School Aquatic’s Departments in Thailand. It is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed swim Coach to learn from the best.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Planning, preparing and running Squad sessions;

  • Attending all major home and International swim meets;

  • Team selection;

  • Running warm ups and cool downs at meets;

  • Pre and post competition talks;

  • Assisting in running swim meets;

  • Running stroke correction clinics;

  • Dry-land training;

  • Running swim camps;

  • Cover for Learn to Swim.

Selection Criteria:

  1. A clear understanding of swimming technique;

  2. Ability to work in a team, demonstrating developed communication and interpersonal skills;

  3. Ability to engage and motivate young swimmers;

  4. Demonstrated desire to learn and develop coaching and Learn to Swim skills, to a higher level;

  5. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to achieving quality swimming from your swimmers.

Hours of Work: 30 hours per week

Salary: Available on request, plus living allowance.
