Detailed Description

Duties of the role:

  1. Assist in the delivery of evidence-based sport science service provision (biomechanics) to identified QAS supported athletes/Sport Programs under the direction of a QAS Performance Scientist and the Director, High Performance.
  2. Contribute to the highest quality assurance standards relating to equipment, equipment maintenance and methods in relation to collecting valid and reliable test data to analyse, interpret and review under the direction of Performance Scientists.
  3. Undertake data entry / data management tasks and prepare scientific reports for use by Performance Scientists.
  4. Assist with the dissemination of information from laboratory / field testing and related research to athletes, coaches and the high performance support team under the direction of Performance Scientists.
  5. Assist on applied research projects, which contribute to the effectiveness of sports science, improve the effectiveness of the coach and athlete in training and competition in accordance to the strategic direction and priorities of the QAS and High Performance Teams.
  6. Work collaboratively as part of a high performance support team / organisation, establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with key internal and/or external stakeholders to assist in the delivery of high quality outcomes.

Mandatory requirements

Qualifications

A degree qualification in sport science or agreed equivalent as determined by the Director-General. Seek advice from the nominated contact officer before applying if equivalency needs to be assessed.

Citizenship/visa

To be appointed to a permanent position, you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work permanently in Australia. For temporary appointments, you must have a visa permitting you to work for the length of the temporary appointment.

National travel to attend camps and competitions is a requirement of this role. This position may be required to work weekends, or outside ordinary work hours.
